D&D Summer Camp for Tweens & Teens
Attention, Charlotte-area D&D fans! We’d love to see you at our in person, half-day camps this July in Davidson, North Carolina.
Young Dragonslayers Camp is a great way to:
Meet new local friends
Try out a variety of D&D-style games
Get tips and tricks from a professional Game Master
Learn about story structure, character creation, and improvisation
We had a blast running camp last summer, and we’re excited to meet new players around an actual table for some real, live, D&D!
The Details:
We’re partnering with Davidson Community Players this year to offer our D&D programming as part of their super popular summer camp programming. Theater kids are more than welcome to apply!
Location: We’ll meet at the Armour Street Theatre in Davidson, which should provide a suitably dramatic backdrop for our adventures.
Dates: Camp meets July 1st-July 5th, Monday-Friday.
Times: Tween camp (ages 10-12) meets 9am-12pm; Teen camp (ages 12-16) meets 1pm-4pm.
We deliberately keep our camp groups very small—6 players maximum—to make sure everyone gets plenty of individual attention and time to play. We’ll have adult facilitators onsite at all times, plus extra support from DCP’s staff.
The Benefits
(What Kids Say About Camp)
Last year’s campers had great things to say about our program—that’s why we’re back for another round! More than anything, we want kids to have a fun summer experience. But if they pick up some bonus benefits along the way, that’s awesome, too. D&D gives kids the opportunity to:
Practice social skills with peers in a natural, non-awkward way
Learn how to confidently lead in a group setting
Meet likeminded local peers
Learn a new skill that they can use to connect with friends
90% of last year’s campers said they felt like a better Game Master after attending our camp, and 85% said they felt more comfortable leading a group in general. We like those odds!
